Sounds to me like you made the right call. I called the police on my ex-husband at the beginning of the pandemic too, so he understood I was serious about what I wouldn't tolerate in the house we had to continue to share. He made a scene of it, but he also backed down a bit. I hope your mom will take the lesson she needs from that experience too.

The way you have raised S differently from the way you were raised I think makes a huge difference.
