I am thankful for all those who give and are generous, whether to me or to those in need. I was going to say, "No matter who they give to" and then I realized I (personally) actually am not in favor of giving to the NRA or to the campaigns of certain candidates.

I thank my husband for all the love he gives me and all that goes along with that. This is a second marriage for both of us. I thank him for giving me a chance to build a healthy relationship (which is a new experience for me.) I thank him for taking a chance on me, someone who had truly struck out on relationships. Our second wedding anniversary is December 28, 2021. I am thankful for him.

I thank my three kids for giving me the chance to be a parent. I know they didn't choose a mom like me (as they have often reminded me) but I truly thankful for this chance. I learn more every day.

I love my son. He'll be 21 in April. He's strong and tall (6 ft 4). It's been a long road for us, but he's working up to 39 hours a week and learning what he can contribute to this world. He's growing and changing daily. I thank him for giving me so much exposure to the Spanish language. He translates for people at his job all the time. I'm impressed by anyone who knows more than one language. I took 2 semester in college, but still find Spanish conversation difficult for me.

I love my S, my oldest daughter. She just started a new job on Tuesday so she's less than a week in but trying hard. This is her senior year so next year is college. I am thankful for all the chances she is giving me to learn more about the many colleges she has been accepted at (I believe it is 10, at last count.) I thank her for the chance to learn more about how to choose a college. She has partial scholarships to some of the 10. How do we decide? This is an interesting process. I thank her for giving me the chance to learn so much about marching band as she has been a section leader in her high school band for the last 2 years. She's been in band for 7 years now and it's definitely been a great deal of hard work. She will be 18 in January.

I love L, my youngest. I thank her for giving me the chance to learn so much about theater. She student directed for the first time this fall. She is also in a play in December and another in April next year. She is the most social child I have so I'm learning (as an introvert) to appreciate and love the different way extroverts see the world. I thank her for giving me so much fashion advice for apparently I "know nothing." I dress ok (I think), but I had no idea of the intricate details that go into fashion until I had this child. She just started high school and turned 15 yesterday.

I thank my stepdaughter for giving me a chance. Not everyone would be ready for their dad to marry someone younger than themselves, but she is loving and gracious. I feel very lucky to be accepted into this family.

I thank my stepson for giving us a visit recently. Again, he's older than me, but has an accepting heart. I am thankful for all I have learned about animals from his discussion of his animals. He has a full time job elsewhere, but also has a hobby farm of sorts. He gives us the inside scoop on the hidden habits of cows, goats, etc.

I am thankful to my step-grandson J. He and B. are expecting the first great grandchild in April, a little boy. It's exciting for there to be a new generation.

I am thankful for my dog Daisy for giving us so much love. She and my daughter S. have bonded closely. Daisy had big shoes to fill. She joined our family 2 days after Lucy died. We had Lucy almost 11 years. Her "brother dog" Max died 6 months ago but Daisy bounded right into our lives. We almost didn't pick her but she was on the short list to be put to sleep in the pound. We gave her a chance and she gives us the love that brightens our life every day.

Thank you to any readers for giving my words a look. Also, thank you to Gary for giving us all a place to share the words on our hearts.

This was beautiful - I can really feel how proud you are of your family and how thankful you are to have everyone in your life, and from what you've wrote it sounds as though they are just as thankful to have you, which is such a nice feeling. I wish your kids the best of luck in the future, especially the one just about to start college; what an adventure that's going to be!
